Graduate Students With Industrial Engineering Skills

Currently, the Center for Healthcare Engineering and Patient Safety (CHEPS) is seeking graduate students with industrial engineering skills to work full-time in summer 2021 from May to August. The position will include flexibility for up to 2 weeks of unpaid vacation time. There may be the opportunity to continue the position, with funding, into the next academic year. Candidates need not be in Ann Arbor for summer 2021. CHEPS is currently operating virtually due to COVID-19. 

CHEPS brings together multi-disciplinary teams to improve healthcare delivery and patient experiences. As a student employee, you will contribute invaluable skills and knowledge to help ensure project success.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in simulation, optimization, or data analytics
  • Interest in healthcare applications
  • Project management skills
  • Leadership skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Interest in working in a multi-disciplinary collaborative environment

Student employees at CHEPS:

  • work closely with faculty and other students from many different backgrounds on real-world problems
  • learn about complex systems and how different people view and contribute to healthcare
  • get hands-on experience in a wide range of clinical environments
  • contribute skills and knowledge while learning from others
